One of two ‘looser’ pieces I started this evening after an inspiring visit to the armory show.  Leaving the base wood on these two & letting it show through a bit.  Also not covering to the edge as in some of the other paintings. Part of my ‘let it go’ series.

Its been a while since i’ve updated…travel kept me from painting but opened my mind.  Back in NYC and exploring new colors.   these two panels will hang together as one piece…really loving the way gold & a dark evergreen work together.  will be doing several more in this vein. (acrylic on wood)

HERCULES & NESSUS 2012 Watercolor & India Ink 18’ x 24’ In Greek mythology, it is the shirt (chiton) daubed with the tainted blood of the centaur Nessus that Deianeira, Hercules’ wife, naïvely gave Hercules, burning him, and driving him to throw himself onto a funeral pyre.
